Good morning loving readers,
Happy Friday! Any exciting plans for the weekend? I hope you have an amazing weekend with lots of time to relax, recharge and to be proactive about taking charge of your health. Today, I wanted to mention a few tips for you to incorporate into your fitness routine so you can boost that metabolism, and revamp your current routine to allow your body to be challenge so that you can see the results you want to see. Let's be honest, I think the biggest motivation is to watch changes in our body, feeling good, having more energy to do all the things we want to do. So let's do this. 1. Combine cardio and strength training in one workout Try to incorporate strength training exercises that work more than one part of the body at once. You can do lunges and bicep curls all in one move follow by some burpees. By incorporating strength training moves that work more than one part of the body, you are working on your muscle mass therefore you will burn more calories, and by also adding cardio you are boosting your metabolism to the max. 2. Be mindful of your rest time between sets Once you start doing one exercise, for instance squats with dumbell shoulder press try to do all reps followed by jump squats with no rest in between. This will make sure that your heart rate is up and you will easily break a sweat and increase your strenght and cardiovascular health by minimizing your breaks. 3. Change up your rutine Be mindful that our amazing bodies will easily adapt to our exercises. So if all do you is cardio, incorporate some strength training. If you do cardio first. Do your strength training first and then do your cardio. If your cardio is done in one piece of equipment try doing some conditioning plyometric cardio moves. You see where I am going with this. You need to change up your routine every 4 to 6 weeks. This will keep your body guessing and you will continue improving your fitness levels. 4. REST I cannot emphasize the importance of rest days. Your body needs its rest to recover and to get stronger. In addition, it is important to take a mental break so you won't get burned out. 5. Nutrition Have in mind that just because you are exercising it does not mean that you should go for a run and then go straight to the donut shop. Nurture yourself with proper nutrient dense whole foods. Make sure you are eating well and incorporating all your macronutrients into your diet. Eat your veggies and fruits and also make sure you are keep up with your water intake so that your body has all it needs for your exercise routines. Have a wonderful day, With gratitude, Anamaria

Good afternoon lovely readers,
Today, we are going to be very real and upfront. As much as we all want to do our best and thrive to eat healthy, there will always be days when we don’t feel motivated and/or we end up eating the wrong thing and most often than not when this happens we end up feeling like a failure. I can tell you yesterday was one of those days where I felt hungry all day and I just couldn’t stop eating. I am telling you this, because YES… it can happen to best of us. I was running around all day and didn’t eat for over 6 hours straight and I ended up just eating and eating non-stop. And did I feel bad about myself, did I feel like I ruined all my progress, did I feel like a bad person, a bad coach, a bad example to others…YES. Of course, I felt like that way because I am only human. But you know what, that is exactly my point. We are only human and nobody is perfect. I am firm believer in setting myself up to be successful by prepping my food so that I can make sure that I have healthy foods always available at my reach so that I don’t end up in the drive through but as much as I can prep ahead, I cannot always control how I feel, and sometimes our feelings take over and that’s why we end up reaching for those foods that may not serve us. As much as I think of it as a bad day, I actually see it as such a positive because it is a learning opportunity for me. Instead of punishing myself or thinking that I am less of this or that, I try to look at it from the afar and I try to sit down for a minute and try to think about what was really going on, what was the root or cause of my actions. What was I feeling, and how can I deal with this feeling in a healthy way, instead of drowning my anxiety with a bag of chips follow by a bag of kettle corn J In addition, after eating all these things, I really end up just feeling worse, and this is such a good reminder for me to stick to my healthy foods because who wants to feel all bloated and uncomfortable. My point here is to remind you that it is ok to have a day where our diet and/or exercise are not on point. You will not ruin all your progress and you will not gain all the weight back. The important thing is to be kind to yourself, to really look within and to find out the feeling behind it. Know that our struggles make us stronger and as long as you can identify these triggers then you will learn how to address it. Sometimes we think that having a bad day in our journey will just be the end but I need you to go back to your WHY, why did you say to yourself, it is time, today is the day, I am ready and nothing will stop me. Think about all the reasons of why you are committed to make yourself a priority to finally and for all make your HEALTH a non-negotiable and with love and kindness make your next day a day where everything you put into your body are foods that will nurture and fuel your body properly and actively choose to move, to make that effort to allow your body to thrive on movement and exercise. So try these out and I promise you will feel better https://youtu.be/OzjGi-y9y5w With gratitude, Anamaria Good afternoon Loving Readers, Today, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite products I have been using for years and that I have found quite effective. Let me preface by saying that I have personally used all these products for years and I am not sponsored, so I have paid for every single one. This is truly my own opinion and experience. I wanted to share because everything is sweeter when you share and also these are things that get me excited about working out. And I think if we find things that help us get going and excited about working out. Why not?
Well my friends, this athletic gel/cream, a performance enhancement, in my humble opinion is BEYOND AWESOME. Sweet Sweat is manufactured and produced by Sports Research Corporation. I initially started using the stick. Nowadays, there are different ones you can choose from. I personally just love the stick. Since it is a gel/cream, and I don’t know about you but I don’t like the sticky feeling you get when you apply lotions on your body and then your hands end up all sticky and oily. So the stick is awesome. I basically rub it all over and I start working out and when I look at the ground, you see sweat dripping from every pore of your body. You can rub it on your arms and legs and put your clothes on it on just let it air out. It just looks like you applied on some lotion. Or what I do is I applied all over my belly and then I put on the waist trimmer, which I will go into detail next. 2. Waist trimmers- Now these waist trimmers are not the ones that you tight up like a corset and end up cutting your circulation, which I have seen other places, NOOOO. Please don’t even go there. These trimmers are sort of like a binder with Velcro so you can adjust to your measurements as you feel most comfortable. Mind you, Sweet Sweat carries trimmers not only for your waist but also for your arms and thighs. I have personally used the waist and the thighs trimmers. As I have mentioned previously, basically, all you have to do is to start by laddering the cream all over and then putting the trimmers on. During exercise this will help you raise your core body temperature and heat production. As a result, these promote and increase sweating. According to the company, the trimmers promote dripping, drenching sweat, burn more calories, increase circulation and help with muscle fatigue. These gel and trimmer won’t make you lose weight but they will certainly make you elevate your temperature therefore you sweat and increase circulation like no other. If anything at least you are getting rid of all the toxins from all the sweating. The best part is that it is something you can easily wear under your clothes and hide very well. If you wear the trimmers, your clothes won’t get stained or anything from the gel and nobody will notice that you are wearing them. Just give it a GO and THANK me Later. 3. ZAGGORA- Zaggora is a brand of exercise apparel which is made of lycra, polyester and neoprene which form a combination of layers the company defines as “thermofit technology”. Zaggora carries pants, tank tops, shorts, shirts, sweaters, you name it. Sort of the same idea here while you wear these workout clothes, your temperature raises and you sweat more. These clothing items feel like you are wearing thermos. The company claims that you burn 11% more calories during your workout and even after working out you burn 13% more calories. One thing to point out is that these brand comes from England, it is quite expensive and most of the time, the items you like are out of stock, soyou may end up waiting a long time for your item to be available and to be shipped out to you. Having said that I do like them. Now one thing they do is make you sweat. I have worn them at night, I have worn them just to run errands, I have worn them for workouts and here are my recommendations. These are great for walks, running errands and of course the gym. However, YOU WILL SWEAT, so make sure that if you uear them at the gym, brings clothes to change because you will be dripping in sweat. I think you can get the best use out of t hese items is when you do CARDIO. I promise you, you will be sweating bullets. So if you have a HOT date at the gym or you are trying to impress someone, perhaps not the best exercise apparel to wear. But if you really want to get a good workout in and sweat, these are perfect. WARNING, do not wear these on long hikes. I had the brilliant idea to wear them on a 20 mile hike and I BURNED. It was awful. BETTER ME THAN YOU my loves. 4. Heart Monitor- TALKING ABOUT MOTIVATION. If nothing else these will help you make a bee line to start your workout. These little guys are a gem, as you can see how hard you are actually working right then and there. In addition, many of these monitors will allow you to give you a good estimate of how many calories you burned which is more accurate than what you get on the cardio machines. Furthermore, if you are a numbers person, it will give you all the numbers you need to get an idea on how effective your workouts are and whether you need to step it up. So if you have a workout buddy or if you are trying to get your 10000 steps, this little guys, will maybe key to get you to be more active and to exercise. You can create your own little challenge with your spouse, your co-workers, your parents, your siblings, your frineds, you name it! As far as brand goes, I will leave it up to you. Honestly, I have not really found one that I love that much to really talk about and I won’t even dare to promote anything if I don’t completely and whole heartedly LOVE IT! 5. MCT OIL- Stands for Medium-Chain triglycerides which like coconut oil are saturated fats. But hear me out, these are GOOD saturated fats that we need to consume on a daily basis, as it has a positive effect on heart and brain health. MCTs can also be found on butter and beef from grass-fed cows, cheeses, whole milk and full-fat yogurt. These healthy fats are easily digested, have a termogenic effect, reduced stored body fat, increase energy levels, improve mood, balance hormone levels, fight bacterial infections and viruses. One easy way to incorporate this oil into your diet, in a blender, pour one cup of your brew coffee, one tablespoon of ghee, one tablespoon of MCT oil, a little stevia and there you have it, not only are you getting your daily dose of caffeine but you are also turning it into a SUPERFOOD. Try it out and let me know! I hope you like these suggestions! Do you want more posts like these. I have lots of different things to share. Just let me know in the comments section. With gratitude and love, Anamaria
Good morning Loving Readers,
Today we are talking METABOLISM Metabolism consists of all the chemical processes that go inside the body, in other words, metabolism is the ability that your body has to convert food into energy. So if you have two people with the same weight but one has more lean mass than the other then the person with more lean mass has a higher metabolic rate. So in order to improve your metabolism one has to increase lean mass and reduce fat mass. There are some things that we can control and others that we cannot control like gender, age, and genetics. So here are some tips on how to speed up your metabolism:
I hope this serves you. Love, Anamaria
Good afternoon loving readers,
The winter is behind us and Summer will be here before we know it! It is that time of the year where special events, weddings, parties and vacations are happening and we are desperate to look and feel good in that outfit or bikini. So what do we do? We usually plan last minute, we starve ourselves hoping to drop the weight as fast as possible and we go and do 3 hours cardio, believe me I have done it. Well we have it all wrong. So today I wanted to give you a few tips on how to look amazing for that event without killing yourself in the process.
Just keep in mind, events come and go but your priority should be your body. YOUR BODY IS YOUR TEMPLE Our bodies are constantly working and they work really hard so we truly need these calories, even just to have a pulse. We often forget that our bodies are constantly working and we need those calories so your organs can have the proper fuel to function properly. Believe me I have been there, I have reduce my calories so that I can look my best, but I care about you and what is most important to me if your health and well being. Please don’t jeopardize it. It is to be cherished and treasure J In addition, what we are trying to accomplish here is to look slim and and avoid bloating. Am I right ladies? So in order to avoid bloating you need to eat a substantial amount to keep things moving in your digestive tract. Food will have an impact on your digestion and there is a threshold of volume that is required in order to avoid the accumulation of indigestive material residual in your intestines. For every gram of glycogen, stored in the form of carbohydrate, you stored 3 grams of water. 2. EAT CARBS Now I got your attention J Keep in mind that I am not suggesting for you to go eat white bread, pizza and donuts what I am suggesting here is to include a healthy wholesome form of carbohydrates in your meals in the form of fruit, oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and a variety of starchy vegetables. If you stop eating carbohydrates all you are going to accomplish is to lose water weight and muscle mass which will reflect on the scale but not really on your body composition. I think the goal here is to look good in that perfect outfit. You have spent hours and hours at the mall or online looking for the perfect outfit and now that you have finally found it. I want you to ROCK IT! J. Instead, what you can do here is that you can strategically consume your carbohydrates to optimize fat loss. Have your carbohydrates before and after your workout. If you enjoy fruit, enjoy a small amount of fruit pre-workout and after your workout have your starchy vegetables, legumes, you get my point. Just be mindful that it is important to include every macronutrient into our diet. 3. AVOID OVERDOING AT THE GYM Have in mind that water in the body shifts according to the type of exercise we do. What we need to do is maximize the water in our muscle cells, so we can achieve a more defined body. When we do heavy lifting and 4 hours of cardio, we are stressing our bodies and when there is trauma to the body the body launches an acute inflammation response. Aim for body weight circuit training, hot yoga and Pilates. 4. SLEEP Often when we have a goal in mind, we find ourselves worrying and the majority of the time, all the stress surfaces at night and as a result we lack proper sleep. Lack of sleep actually reduces all of our efforts during the day to eat a whole food nutrient dense diet. In other words, lack of sleep causes a rise in ghrelin, appetite hormone; therefore we tend to feel hungrier. In addition, a rise in ghrelin decreases energy expenditure and promotes retention of fat. 5. HYDRATE It is important to keep our digestion moving and to keep ourselves hydrated to make sure our skin is well hydrated. In addition, it will help with hunger. Sometimes, even though it feels like you are hungry you may just be dehydrated. So when you wake up have one to two glasses of water, at work, make sure you have a water bottle and fill it up every time you get up from your desk to get a break. Drink drink drink. Hope this serves you! With gratitude, Anamaria 1. Drink water first thing in the morning (half of your body weight in ounces per day) and carry a water bottle. 2. Stretch at least 5 minutes a day. 3. At least 20 to 30 minutes of physical activity, 5 days a week. 4. Set life, fitness, and diet goals with intent. 5. Choose food that you enjoy and that nurture, fuel and energized your body. 6. Strategized your food around your activity to optimize your body’s natural ability to burn fat and to facilitate recovery. 7. Incorporate 2 to 3 servings of vegetables and 1 serving of fruit. 8. Make sure your meals include carbohydrates, protein, fat and fiber. 9. Add 1 serving of protein with every meal especially if you are consuming carbohydrates. 10. Plan ahead; long work hours + life + failing to plan = set up to fail. 11. Health and physical activities matter more than weight. We do not thrive on being restricted. 12. Consistent action and patience = optimal health and results. Love, Anamaria Good morning loving readers, Happy Sunday! Wishing you all a day of rest; to recharge, to be kind to yourself. Today, not to sound like a broken record, but we are going to revisit our WHY. This time around I really want to connect deeply with YOU so we can find that honest and genuine WHY. This will be our propeller, our motor, our motivation from now on. And what better day to reflect than Sunday! So without further ado, let's get to it. Try to find a little hidden corner somewhere, take advantage of the game going on, the kids out playing in the yard or taking a nap and sit down in stillness with a piece of paper and write. Before we start to write, let's approach this exercise from the distance, I want you to take a step back as you go through this exercise. I want you to remember that WE ARE NOT OUR THOUGHTS. So go ahead and do the following as you were looking at it from far away.
Once you finish writing your alone time is probably up and you hear your name being called. Take this time to return to your partner, your kids, your to do list and allow for some time. JOB WELL DONE. More power to you! Once you get to have a few more minutes for yourself. Go back to your notes and go through them and let me tell you. YOU ARE A BRAVE SOUL. I commend your efforts to have gotten this far. This is not easy. BUT HAVE YOU GOTTEN THIS FAR ONLY TO GET THIS FAR? :) After going through your list. Think about what it is that you would like to change. Start small. Perhaps you would like to start incorporating one salad and one walk a week. You would like to get educated on learning more about healthy eating and exercise? Write it all down. Keep in mind that your goal to change has to be a realistic one. One that will make you a better version of you and not to look like so and so because you are YOU and not that other person. Now, I need to you to ask yourself if are you READY? And I am going to tell you how you would know you are ready.... 1. You know that you are ready when this change you would like to embrace is genuinely embraced by every cell of your body. 2. Your reasoning behind this change is transcendental; it is a decision made by you and ONLY YOU. 3. Your focus on the reason behind this change is based on the fact that it is YOUR choice, it is transcendental to YOU. And there you have it. YOU ARE NOW READY! I hope this serves you! Much love, Anamaria Good morning loving readers, Happy Saturday! It is a gloomy day here in North Carolina which makes it easier to want to be home holding a cup of warm tea o coffee and taking some time to slowly wake up to get ready for the day. Today, we are going to talk about effective practical ways where you can implement all your hard work and start applying it to your daily life. START NOW. I want you to take a moment this morning to sit still so you are able to connect and to have a conversation with your higher self. Check in with your spirit, your mind and body and gently but firmly declared that TODAY is the day you are committing to YOU.
START NOW
1. The people in your life (family and friends) Express to the people in your life that you are choosing to lead a healthy lifestyle. Express your decision to choose healthy eating and new exerxise habits. Once you put it out there into the world, the people in your life will know that they should be happy for you and respectful of your journey. In addition, you may find other people interested in following your steps so you can invite them to exercise and cook healthy recipes with you. You will make yourself accountable. On the other hand, you may find other people who may for some reason want you to go back to your old ways or to change your mind. This is where it is important to be the bigger person and make some tough decision. Your choice to lead a healthy life may also place you in a position where you will see people's true color. The people that truly matter will always be there no matter what so if in your journey you find that people may not be there for you, this means that they never had good intentions to begin with. Wish them all the best and focus on YOU. 2. Check your kitchen (work or home); go through your fridge, your freezer and your pantry. I know that you may not leave alone and you cannot always control everything that you have in your kitchen. Your husband or your wife likes certain things and your children other things. Tough love side-note You are in control of your own health and you should also want your loved ones to eat healthy, therefore, you can easily choose to get rid of all the junk. Take a bag and placed all that processed food items in it and donate it to the church. IT IS A WIN WIN. Out of sight, our of mind! People are going to react, cry and scream but the bottom line this is YOUR ONE AND ONLY LIFE and you have the right to do what it takes to make you and your family THRIVE. In addition, if you have a break room or a fridge at work, make sure you have foods that will nurture and fuel your body. I will teach you how to read food labels and what items are worth purchasing and consuming because of its nutritional value. This is what your body needs to FLORISH. 4. Write and Visualize- Sit down and write or type and visualize what you would like to realistically accomplish for that day or week. Write down on a calendar and choose one day where you will plan your meals, write down a specific day, time and duration for your exercise. Visualize yourself in the kitchen making healthy food and being active, in the park, in the gym, moving your body. Think of it as an appointment, as a work assignment, It is on the calendar therefore you follow through. COMMIT TO IT! 3. Prepare ahead- Set yourself for success. Make a little room during your busy schedule to cut up some veggies and have them ready in the fridge. Make a few dishes ahead of time so they are in the freezer for those times when you come home exhausted and don't want to cook anything. The golden rule here is to think and plan ahead so you have your healthy food all ready to go so you don't grab junk food when there is no need to.
Mind you if you are physically active, if you live in a really hot climate, if your job is physically demanding or if you just happen to sweat a lot then you need a little more water than most people. If you do not exercise 1 to 2 liters of water is enough. Just make sure you incorporate plenty of water into your day. If you don’t like water, try to find ways to drink it. I personally like bubbly water so I drink water like LaCroix. Water is imperative your metabolism and to boot your body’s basic functions. Enough water intake helps with anxiety and hunger. Wishing you a Saturday filled with joy, abundance, and happiness! Love, Anamaria
Good morning loving readers!
HAPPY FRIDAY! Any exciting plans for the weekend? My plan is to have a balance productive and relaxing weekend. Mostly my plan is to get organized, go through my closet, my pantry and do a little of spring cleaning around here. So if you have been following my blog posts, you may have been doing some work within and hopefully you have started to consider the thought of committing to MAKING YOUR HEALTH a priotity; and if that is the case I celebrate you. To recap, YOU my friend, thus far, have actively connected with your spirit, your mind and your body. As a result, you may have a better idea of what it is that bothers you about your current health and what changes you would like to adopt to get to the outcome YOU want. Pay attention to what it is that bothers you. Perhaps it is the way you feel or the way you look or both. Or simply you truly desire to incorporate a healthy diet and more exercise into your life. Spend some time really thinking about what it is that you want and WHY. Write it somewhere. Sometimes when you write you can really get clear on what it is that you want and why. Just write whatever comes to mind and I promise you, you will be surprise to see how much information you will be able to get. You can also make a little poster, adding pictures and colors, making it as personal as you can. Add your favorite colors; add pictures of perhaps a dress that you want to be able to wear or maybe a picture of someone that looks beautiful inside and out. Now make sure you get to see this poster on a daily basis, perhaps several times a day, on the fridge or somewhere on the wall where you know you will see it. This will be a reminder as well as a visual for you to encourage and create excitement of what it is to come. Once you have a clear understanding of what it is you want to accomplish and you have it all written down as well as a visual image of your intention, I also wanted to share with you what you may expect from now on. As you may know, we have a sticky and engraved programming of our own and you will notice that in the process of reprogramming there are quite a few thoughts in general that will come up. What to expect
Hope you enjoy this, choose what serves YOU. Love, Anamaria
Good morning loving readers,
TODAY I am posting a little later than usual. I was debating on posting about my personal experience with coffee. Recently, I have struggle with my intake with coffee. Now, if you ask one of my friends or any member of my family about my coffee intake. They will tell you that coffee runs through my blood. This is how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE coffee and why wouldn't I, I AM COLOMBIAN after all! Lately though, I have had the realization that coffee is not loving me back! I feel like coffee is not longer serving ME! So I have done lots of research on it and as a result I have decided to take a little break from coffee by checking out other options. So far, I have not had any coffee in the last three days. However, I strongly believe that it is imperative to make informed decisions so I did my own research. I found out lots of great info I wanted to share with you guys in case any of you may at some point encounter this conundrum. At last, I will post on the subject matter in my Nutrition page so stayed tune for that… Righ now, we are going to focus on our journey and where we left off. We looked into our lovely sprit, mind and body. In addition, we purposely search within to find out our WHY. So having accomplished this much is quite HUGE. And again, looking within, searching, identifying, decluttering, letting go, making a new story for ourselves is not going to be conquered from one day to the next. This is an ongoing process but at least, key word, process, it is happening as we speak so it is PROGRESS. Now let me circle back to how all these work is related to OUR health. Well let's say and I am speaking for myself that my goal right now is to change my body composition. So where to start? No clue. But right now since all I hear is that so-called Ketogenic diet. I will go for that. I go online, google it, and boom, I print myself some key points, get some food ideas from Pinterest and I start. According to me, I do everything right, but then a week goes by and I feel like I am literally going to pass out at any time and to make matters worse, I see NO body composition changes. Because YOU and I know. When it comes to this goals some of us think, Who cares if I feel like I am passing out at any given time, as long as I am losing fat. AM I RIGHT LADIES? (joking) Well friends this where OUR HARD WORK thus far will adhere. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW WHERE TO START..... START FROM YOU... Having done some work on your spirit, mind and body, as well as your why will help you get clear on what it is that you want to accomplish and WHY. Knowing exactly what it is that you want to achieve in this journey will give you bullet point list to get to the FINISH LINE. This is you start. Having the strong foundation that you now have will give you the backbone to adhere to this new lifestyle. Remember, we are all very different. What works for Gwyneth Paltrow may not work for you or for me. She is an endomorph and I am a mesophorm. These are body types which I will go into detailed later on J What does work is knowing thyself. When you know YOU, you know what is going to work, what is not going to work, what is doable and realistic. And don't worry I try my best to give you the tools necessary for you to work with but most importantly you are going to just focus on YOU. This is where you START! Love, Anamaria Good morning loving readers, In my previous blogs, I have addressed the spirit, the mind and the body so today is the day to make sense of it all. The reason I dedicated a little bit of time for all of us to dig deep, assess and strengthen the spirit, the mind and the body is because the harmony and alignment of all three are going to provide that solid foundation that we require to move forward on our journey to health. Having said that, I am not saying that we have to have it all figure out and have an impeccable spirit, body and mind by the end of the business day. What I am saying, is for us to be mindful and aware of all the negative thoughts that pop into our heads, to acknowledge these thoughts, to truly take them as a thought that will come and go and not as something that actually define us. We basically grab all these thoughts, we realize that they don't serve us and as a result we are consciously and purposely working into disciplining our minds by releasing and blocking them. And this, friends, is a HUGE step in the right direction. One thing that I have learned in my journey and I have seen over and over again is that one of the most practical, realistic and sustainable ways to prioritize your health is to know thyself. This is something that I can't emphasize enough. In addition, something that will help you long term is to know your WHY. So today I want you to ask yourself WHY. Why do you want to prioritize your health? Coming from a place within ask yourself WHY. As you know, identifying limiting beliefs, old habits, and self destructing patterns is not an easy task and setting new beliefs, habits and patterns that serve you takes some tedious and necessary work. This is why, I strongly suggest for you to come with a number of reasons that will be your constant reminder, a grounding technique, your own pep talk to keep going strong through this journey. Let me give you a few examples that apply to me personally: MY WHY:
I am sure you will come up with a wonderful list. Let this be another tool for you to continue to move forward. At the end of the day, you can wake up and decide to try the latest diet out there. You can try the ketogenic, paleo, vegan, you name it, diet for days on end but what really stick and give you long term and sustainable results is a nutrition and fitness program that will correlate with knowing your BODY and the reasons behind your WHY. This is where all I have mentioned until this point is so VITAL. If you have a close and intimate relationship with your spirit, mind and body, YOU have the power to know what is BEST for you and therefore, you will accomplish anything you want. You will be able to change your old habits, adopt new healthy habits, eat right, exercise, change your body composition and simply GLOW like no other. In addition your WHY will always keep you on your GAME! Please let me know in the comments below if you have any questions and if you are willing to share your WHY Love, Anamaria
Happy Monday to all of you lovely readers,
I hope you have a wonderful Easter surrounded by lots of moments of joy, delicious food and memories that you will cherish forever. April is starting and although some states are still kind of stuck in the winter months, the spring is here and spring is the month for spring cleaning and the time to declutter. So let's make this month a month of reflection, a month of facing what it is that we are struggling with so we can face it, acknowledge it, declutter, let go and create a new story that serve us to consciously lead a healthy sustainable lifestyle. Everyday we wake up and have all the best intentions to do what is best for us, then life gets in the way, our child is sick all night, our partners snore all night, the neighbors seem to have an elephant as a pet and we can hear it all night long, so by the time we get up, we feel completely exhausted and overwhelmed. We do our best to get ready and we head out the door. On our way to work or on our way to drop of the kids, we get bombarded with all kind of drive through fast food restaurants all around us, and we think, well I didn't get any sleep, I better get something fast. I can really use a pastry and a mocha frapuccino with whipped cream or perhaps something greasy and delicious to get me going. Easy, fast, inexpensive. And even if that's not the case, often, we get to work and find all kinds of treats; donuts, pastries, cakes, you name it. And what are we suppose to do? Well let's just have one to give me a little boost of energy. I GET IT. We are constantly tempted. In addition, our minds are constantly playing tricks on us. Well I didn't get any sleep, I need some sugar to get me through the day, and I can always exercise and eat better tomorrow. And let's face it, we all come up with all kinds of excuses not to take better care of our bodies and our health, we are only human. This is why it is fundamental to devote a little time to really assess the vibration of our spirit and to build on it to have a strong foundation to work with our mind. Our minds are very powerful and we really have to work hard on training our minds with the help of our high vibration uplifting spirits to make a change. I am not going to sugar coat it. It will take time and hard work. But by working from the inside out, you will see a marvelous and sustainable transformation in your body. Have a wonderful day, love, Anamaria Today we are addressing our minds. Our minds are extremely powerful and take over our ideas, thoughts, beliefs, decisions and pretty much lead the way to how we structure and live our life in general. Based on what our mind tells us we then construct our likes, dislikes, relationships and even our stand on religion and politics. Our mind can push us to be the best version of ourselves or it can push us not to be. Our mind dictates whether we are strong, solid, intelligent and ready to conquer the world. Our mind is a clear reflection of our lives. Some of you may have the happiest go lucky minds, and if you are one of those people, please adopt ME :) And for the rest of us, yes, myself included, who struggle with our minds on a constant basis. Here are a few tips that may help YOU. What do we do when we think poorly of ourselves, when we feel insecure, doubt, fear, not good enough. Well this is where we need to put a little work. We need to start by finding out what is all the garbage that our brains are telling us. Write on a piece of paper, all the bad and the ugly, be as honest and as detailed as you can possible be. You will possibly find yourself tearing up in the process and that's wonderful. See by doing this exercise, you are coming face to face with all your limiting beliefs, the negative, the hurt and by just simply writing them, you are bringing awareness to how your mind works and what your mind tells you on a daily basis, as the tears drip down, keep writing and let it be. Then go through it and write the opposite, I am fat - I am FIT I am stupid - I am SMART I am a failure - I am SUCCESSFUL I am not enough - I am enough You get my point :) Start by taking some time everyday to read this paper out loud. For instance, I name and last name, am FIT, I, Anamaria Delgado, am SMART and so on. POSITVE MENTAL TALK CREATES POSITIVE ENERGY! Once you start acknowledging what your brain tells you and you start to change it, take a look around you. Your environment dictates your habits. Surround yourself with people who have healthy habits. If you truly want to be successful, you may need to take an inventory of those around you and may need to make some tough decisions on those you will keep around. DO IT. YOU ARE YOUR BEST ALIED. In the comments let me know if this serves you. Love, Anamaria I am ALL about HEALTH! I am a HUGE advocate for anything that promotes health. Health can be portrayed in numerous ways. Well let me share with you, my own personal opinion on what HEALTH means to me and how you can be proactive to PRIORITIZE your own HEALTH. Well to me personally health is something I take very seriously. Health is something that not all of us are blessed and lucky to have and often we take for granted, neglect and even abuse for years on end and in many cases it is not until we are not longer healthy that we then start to give it some attention. Unfortunately, many times once we can appreciate any deterioration or deviance in our health and it’s tangible; then we know it could be quite serious. Health to me encompasses our spirit, body and mind. All these three aspects intrinsically work together and in alignment to result in health. And HEALTH = WEALTH. Are you with me? Our spirit is like no other, it truly is the one thing we have that we keep long even after our passing. Not to sound too spiritual but this is how I look at it. A healthy spirit is governed by love, is the certainty that our mere existence is in itself a miracle. Cultivating a healthy spirit requires us to focus on our internal and profound being and its abundance. It is letting go of our ego, fears, limiting beliefs, expectations, attachments and coming to terms with our raw self. It is trusting and having faith that we are gifted, talented, marvelous creatures. It means that we are aware that we all have our very own journey and lessons to learn along the way. It means that even though we may not have it all figure out, somehow, we have the firm credibility in ourselves and in our mission. It means to be open to being vulnerable at times to engage in an exchange of high vibration energy with others and with ourselves. To allow ourselves to give and to receive, to elevate and be elevated. To elaborate on our strengths and to compassionately and kindly work on our flaws which in themselves serve a purpose. But I know easier said than done right? So how in the world can we cultivate a healthy spirit? Well my lovely friends, having a healthy spirit takes work and it is always a work in progress. It is all about making a constant and conscious decision to bring awareness, to shed light, to make the time to truly take a look more from a curiosity point of view rather than with judgment. On a positive note, regardless of where we are at in this journey, rest assure that when it comes to our spirit, the common factor is perfection and enlighntment so we are off to a wonderful start. In addition, some of the things we can do are: 1. Start with curiosity. Make a list of your feelings, your beliefs, your fears and your core values. Ask yourself why do I feel this way, where does this come from, how it originated, what is the root of this feeling or behavior. And do the same about your beliefs, your core values, and your fears. 2. Bring awareness to how you feel about yourself. What do you think of yourself? How do you treat yourself? Do you have positive thoughts or negative thoughts about you? What comes to mind? Do you have very rigid and high expectations? Are you practicing self-destruction? 3. Try to live in the present. Even if you deviate from time to time, acknowledge it and come back. Often our thoughts and programming reflect our past experiences. LEAVE THAT BEHIND. Unless you are working on finding the WHY of certain behaviors, the past is long gone. And somehow as traumatic and awful as it could have been, the past has made you who you are now. You are wiser and stronger because of what you have gone through. Therefore, use it to your benefit and LET IT GO! 4. Every time you feel the need to make a comment about somebody else and when you are about to point that beautiful finger of yours. STOP and turn that finger towards you. FOCUS on you. We truly don't have the time to even get to the shower, do you really want to waste your precious time on other people. NOOOOO. Allocate that time FOR YOU, always. Well my friends, I am going to stop rambling on my personal thoughts. In my next blog, I will continue ... I hope this serves you Love, Anamaria |
